Memorial Day at Scofield

Me and Matt headed up to Scofield early Monday morning in hope to catch some nice tigers and rainbows this time. We got there before there was even any light and prepared for some good fishing. The fish were rising like crazy when we got there and it looked promising. We started fishing and after about 15 minutes we didnt get anything besides a 6 inch rainbow. It was frustrating to see and hear all these fish rising, but nothing was biting our lures. We decided to move to a new spot and there we had a little more success. I caught a decent tiger and matt caught a nice rainbow. We then moved to a third spot and matt caught a couple fish right away. Matt got his first tiger and a couple decent bows. After a while I finally hooked into a really nice tiger. It put up a great fight and jumped in the air 3 times before I finally landed him. He was about 16-17 inches and had some really nice color to him. The fishing started to slow down because they were feeding mostly on the bugs on the surface, which there were a billion of by the way. Then Matt spotted a minnow in the shallows so I snuck up on it and caught in my net yo use for bait. Turns out it was a red sided shiner, a new species! Haha. Put it under a bobber for a while and nothing was going for it. I guess the fish were just full.
